【SuperX Insight】Porsche’s Multi-Charging Patent: A New Dawn for EVs!

🚗 Recently, International Energy News learned an exciting announcement! According to a notice from the National Intellectual Property Administration, Porsche AG has successfully obtained a patent for a “Multi-Charging Station with at Least Two Charging Controllers for Electric Vehicles,” with the patent publication number CN111497664B and an application date dating back to January 2020. This groundbreaking innovation will significantly enhance the convenience and popularity of electric travel.

🔌 The patent abstract reveals that Porsche’s multi-charging station technology features a first charging cable and at least a second charging cable, with each cable equipped with a charging plug. Even more noteworthy is that the multi-charging station is equipped with a first charging controller and at least a second charging controller. This means that the first charging controller can communicate with the electric vehicle connected to the charging station based on the first charging standard, while the second charging controller can communicate with another electric vehicle according to the second charging standard. This design undoubtedly brings unprecedented flexibility and compatibility to electric vehicle charging.

🌍 On December 19th of last year, Volkswagen Group of America announced an important decision: starting from 2025, Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche’s electric vehicle products in North America will be equipped with Tesla’s charging ports, allowing them to access Tesla’s Supercharger network. This initiative not only demonstrates the openness and collaborative attitude of brands like Porsche in the field of electric travel, but also provides electric car owners with a more convenient charging option.

🔥 However, Porsche recently submitted a recall plan to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The plan involves 41,345 hybrid and pure electric vehicles, including the Taycan, Cayenne E-Hybrid, and Panamera E-Hybrid. The recall is due to certain household power outlets using 220V/240V plugs with a 100% charging setting, which may have difficulty managing the required current, posing a risk of fire. Porsche has stated that they have redesigned the cables and are expected to be available in mid-2024. Until then, owners should avoid using 220V/240V voltage for charging and instead opt for 110V voltage or charging at public charging stations.

💪 As a leading company in the field of electric travel, Superx has always been committed to collaborating deeply with major automotive companies to jointly promote the development of electric travel technology.

Let’s jointly look forward to a future where electric travel becomes more prevalent and an indispensable part of our lives! 🌍🚀
